Samuel Price (1926-2021)

Staff at the Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica are greatly saddened by the passing of Samuel Price (ז״ל), one of our major benefactors, and a truly lovely man. We share here an interview recorded with him in 2017, together with his sons, Ira and Charles. In the interview he recalls wonderful memories of life growing up in Jacksonville in the 1930s; his experiences serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII; his post-war career in real estate development, and his lifelong passion for traveling around the world. He also imparts warm and humorous family stories and provides insights into Jewish community life in Jacksonville. We are so grateful for having had the opportunity to know him, and for the many delightful and informative conversations we shared. His ongoing support for the Price Library engendered a world-class collection of which he could be justly proud.

He will be deeply missed.
